We are one of the leading technology universities in India with more than 200 engineering and management colleges, more than 300 modern and job-oriented courses and more than 1.5 lakh students all over the West Bengal. Under the leadership of our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof Saikat Maitra and other talented faculty members, we have introduced several degree courses as well as multiple certificate and diploma courses with the real objective of creating skilled human resources who will be able to meet any challenge.
If you want to apply technology in different fields today, you have to learn the basics of computer science i.e., programming. Because if you want to create some application through the application of technology, you need to have a good idea about programming. The biggest need in a developing country like India is how to make this programming accessible to ordinary students so that they develop a love for it from a very young age. But the big problem here is that most students do not have their computer which is essential for programming. A statistic shows that by 2021, 760 million people in India will be using smart mobile phones. The number of computer users there is around 200 million. So, if we can create a user-friendly application for computer programming with this smart phone, then we can teach programming to a large part of the students.
Under the guidance of our Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, MAKAUT's IT cell has developed a virtual programming learning interface called RLab through which students can learn programming through their smart mobile phones or tabs or computers. RLAB Virtual Interface has programming tutorials, exercises as well as a virtual compiler interface through which students can write and run their programming code in any type of programming language in this virtual compiler via their mobile or tab or computer. He can even save the programming code in text mode for future reference.
